Gran Reserva Malbec
The Malbec grapes for this special wine are handpicked from our estate vineyards in the skyscraper heights of the Uco Valley in Mendoza. Vines in this region face harsh winters and warm summers with mild days and very cold nights. The vines are planted in a rocky, sandy loam with medium to low fertility, good drainage, and low organic material content and salinity levels.
The 2009 Gran Reserva Malbec is a dazzling deep garnet red in the glass. As you swirl, a mélange of dark aromatics reminiscent of blackberry confit mingle with undertones of smoked vanilla and a hint of nutmeg in your glass. Upon sipping, your palate is met by a remarkable fruitiness dominated by black fruit overtones and accentuated by outstanding tannin texture. The experience continues through with a long finish. Excellent aging potential.
